PSB TestThe PSB test is actually a grouping of tests offered by the Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) to help health profession education programs better evaluate their applicants. If you want to apply to nursing school or other health occupations, you may need to take one or more of the PSB tests. The PSB tests meet the principles set forth for nursing applicants by the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the National Council on Measurement in Education. PSB offers four exams: 1) Aptitude for Practical Nursing Examination, 2) PSB Health Occupations Aptitude Examination, 3) PSB Reading Comprehension Examination, and 4) PSB Registered Nursing School Aptitude Examination. Each exam has different eligibility requirements. Before applying for the exam, make sure to check your eligibility with the PSB website. To do well on the PSB exams, you will need to begin studying at least several months in advance. A PSB study guide for your particular exam is a great place to start. The PSB study guide offers sample questions, practice tests, and test-taking strategies that will be helpful in your preparation efforts. Taking the PSB tests can be a smart career move. Healthcare professionals are in demand, and jobs are steadily increasing. This growth is not likely to stop anytime soon because the population is getting older, while technological advances continue to prolong life. Healthcare training, such as nursing school, is one the best possible investments you can make in your career. Last Updated: 04/01/2013
