GACE Test

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) test was developed to help potential teachers and educators meet certification requirements in the state of Georgia.

GACE Test

The GACE test is actually not a single test, but several categories of exams. During a single testing session you may take one, two, or all three Basic Skills tests; one or both Professional Pedagogy tests; one or both Educational Leadership tests; one or both content tests for a single assessment; one or two middle grades tests; the Latin test; the American Sign Language test; or the Paraprofessional test. Which tests you take depends on the certification requirements for your particular role in education.

GACE Test Study Guide | GACE Exam Flashcards

The GACE is a timed, four-hour test. It consists of both multiple-choice questions and constructed-response questions. You may register for either the computerized test or the paper-based test. You should register early on in your certification process, since times of high demand may create a shortage of testing seats.

To prepare for the GACE test, you should consider using a GACE study guide, which will go over test specifics and provide sample questions and practice tests. You may view or download test guides for all examinations of the GACE on the GACE website (www.gace.nesinc.com). GACE test guides are free of charge.

You can register for the GACE test at any time by internet, phone, or mail. At registration, you will be asked to provide your contact information and answers to background questions that are primarily centered on your academic and professional history.
