CSET TestThe California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) test was developed by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to help potential teachers meet certification requirements in the state of California.
The CSET test is actually not a single test, but several categories of exams that have their own subtests. For example, the “CSET: Multiple Subjects” exam consists of three separate subtests, each of which is comprised of both multiple-choice and constructed-response questions. There are five CSET test categories: multiple subjects, preliminary educational technology, writing skills, single subject, and LOTE (used toward a bilingual authorization). To pass a CSET test, you must earn a passing score on each of the exam's required subtests. Each CSET subtest is scored separately. You can register for the CSET test at any time by internet, phone, or mail. At registration, you will be asked to provide your contact information and answers to background questions (primarily centered on your academic and professional history).
