CEOE Test

The Certification Exam for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE) helps teachers and educators in Oklahoma meet the requirements of Oklahoma law. If you want to teach or be an educator of any kind in Oklahoma, you will most likely need to take the CEOE.

CEOE Test

The CEOE test is actually not a single test, but several categories of exams that assess mastery of basic skills, professional knowledge, and content area of specialization. The CEOE testing battery includes the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET), Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination (OPTE), and the Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT).

CEOE Test Study Guide | CEOE Exam Flashcards

Which test you should take depends on your teacher certification requirements, as each teaching position (elementary versus high school, for example) has different requirements. These requirements are determined by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Most CEOE tests are paper based. The following exams may also be taken in computerized format: OGET, OPTE PK–8, and OPTE 6–12.

You can register for the CEOE test at any time by internet, phone, or mail. At registration, you will be asked to provide your contact information and answers to background questions (primarily centered on your academic and professional history).

You should register early in your certification process because times of high demand may create a shortage of testing seats.
